In short, shadow work is the dark side of the mind. A term originally invented by Carl Jung, a concept about facing one’s own trauma, insecurities, self dislikes and any shame stories we are holding on to.
Shadow work is about taking time to poke at your icky bits so you can release the hold it has on you. It’s about accepting that we are beautiful, imperfect beings whom are loveable, not in spite of our scars but because of them.
When we reject any aspect of ourselves we are lowering our vibration and therefore making it VERY hard to manifest.
A non-integrated shadow can cause a lot of psychological struggle. Many people do this work with a therapist particularly if there is deep trauma. But if the trauma isn’t too heavy it’s a great practice to do on your own simply to check in with yourself, to take the time to love on what you consider to be the ugliest parts of yourself which are likely the parts MOST in need of love.
Understanding exactly what’s going on in your subconscious enables you to turn off autopilot, start operating from a fully conscious mind and to step into a place of total acceptance and unlimited freedom.
The way I do shadow work is I start with a ten minute meditation then hit the journal. I’ve provided some journal prompts on the next slide. If you are ready to dive in and want a juicy place to start.
Remember this work is suppose to be uncomfortable, that’s the work! When doing this work, it’s important to not attach any additional shame to any memories, stories or emotions. Accept and love on those emotions until you feel a release.
I also like to light an incense and move my body after to move the energy.
Integrate and transform ✨
Big love from my icky bits to yours ❤️
